This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I don't plan to write much on this website, as there are just too many sites to keep up with. Just wanted to explain how / why I got into solar pyrography.
When I was much younger, maybe around ten or eleven years old, I was shown how to use a magnifying glass and burn objects with the sun by an older friend. I was really interested in the process, but mostly because I couldn't believe that you could start a fire with just a mag glass.
When I was through with ninth grade, my sister was graduating high school. I made her a sign on a piece of wood that served as a certificate of her completion of the 12th grade. Little did I know, my sister still has that sign and just few weeks ago was when I saw it again.
I think that sign was sort of a rite of passage for my artistic side. I realized twenty years later, as I was recovering from a tonsillectomy, that I could really experiment with solar pyrography and create some interesting pieces with bizarre textures. I happened upon my old magnifying glass that was in a bin in my closet and immediately decided to experiment.
For a while I'd only create pieces without painting any of them. I wanted them to be natural, one hundred percent solar pyrography. As of lately, however, I have begun to experiment with tempura paint in conjunction with the solar pyrography. I think it adds much more life to the pieces, though not all pieces call for it.
